Leaching Reagent for Gold Mineral Processing (Cyanide Replacing Reagent)
Time: 2023-11-14 Source: Writer:
Product Description
The material consists of gray-white solid particles, occasionally containing a small amount of black substances, and it is characterized by low toxicity and the absence of an irritating odor.
Usage
This product serves as a viable replacement for sodium cyanide in the leaching process of precious metals such as gold and silver. It is applicable for heap leaching, pool leaching, stirring leaching, and stirring leaching of gold concentrates and tailings of gold ore.
Usage Instructions
Prepare a 5% to 20% mass concentration aqueous solution.
The dosage should be determined based on the original sodium cyanide dosage and considering the characteristics, grade, harmful elements of the ore, and the pH value of the pulp. The recommended agent dosages are approximately 0.2kg to 1.5kg/t for raw ore stirring leaching, 0.5kg to 1.0kg/t for raw ore heap leaching, and 5kg to 8kg/t for gold concentrate stirring leaching. However, it's essential to conduct a small test before industrial application to ascertain the suitable dosage.
It is crucial to note that the dosage of the reagent does not adhere to the principle that more is better, and each ore may require a different suitable dosage. The recommended mass concentration of the reagent in the first tank is typically controlled to be 6 to 10/10,000, and in the tail tank, it is 3 to 3.5/10,000. The pH range of the slurry should be maintained between 10 and 12.
Advantages
The total cyanide content of tailings adheres to the pollution control limit value of 5mg/L for the disposal of cyanide slag tailings in most countries.
The leaching rate of gold is equivalent to or slightly higher than that of sodium cyanide.
This product is a general chemical, offering convenience in transportation, storage, and use.
It boasts a 25% to 30% lower consumption compared to similar products, along with a leaching rate that is more than 1% higher.
The product contains minimal impurities, ensuring a stable leaching rate, no blockage of the pipeline, no impact on the service life of activated carbon, and no hindrance to the adsorption and desorption of activated carbon.
Recommendations
Prior to using the reagent, it is imperative to conduct a laboratory experiment to determine the optimal dosage, providing a data basis for industrial applications. To ensure the success of the test, the formulation of a preliminary test plan and comprehensive laboratory tests are crucial. Engineers involved should have a thorough understanding of the process flow and actual production status, based on which they can formulate a usage method adaptable to the nature of the ore and suitable for the actual site to fully leverage the advantages of the product.
