Any heap leaching enterprise must have the following basic facilities, the connections between these facilities, and the direction of the liquid in the heap leaching site. Due to different climatic and topographical conditions, different production scales, and different ore properties, some processes may be added or omitted in the specific design.
Why heap leaching?
Heap leaching method for gold extraction refers to stacking low-grade gold ore or flotation tailings on the bottom pad material, and circulating and spraying sodium cyanide solution to dissolve the gold and silver in the ore. The gold-containing precious liquid is recovered by methods such as activated carbon adsorption, zinc replacement precipitation or direct electrolytic deposition, and the tailings after gold extraction are sterilized and discharged.
Which ores are suitable for heap leaching?
Heap leaching method for gold extraction has the characteristics of simple process, easy operation, less equipment, less power consumption, less investment, quick effect and low production cost. Heap leaching is used to treat low-grade ore of 0.5-3g/t, and the recovery rate of gold is 50-80%, even 90%. As a result, heap leaching has enabled the economic recovery of many small-scale gold mines, low-grade ores, tailings or waste rock that were previously thought to be of no economic value.

1. Large-scale, low-grade gold and silver mines that were previously considered unusable;
